  1. Freeway Complex Fire Commemoration Event

    November 17, 2018, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ Chino Hills State Park Discovery Center

    Hills For Everyone founders of Chino Hills State Park, in partnership with the Chino Hills State Park Interpretive Association, and Carbon Canyon Fire Safe Council will offer a free two-day exhibit at the Discovery Center. This event commemorates the 10 year anniversary of the Freeway Complex Fire, which damaged or destroyed 280+ homes, burned across four counties, and more than 30,000 acres—including 95% of Chino Hills State Park. The public is invited to attend to view photographs, memorabilia, videos, a poster display, and recommendations for living in fire-prone areas. We also will have fire engines in the parking lot from Chino Valley Fire and Brea-Fullerton Fire Department available for viewing each day.
