Chino Valley Children to Shop with Firefighters

Dec 26, 2023 | News Releases

The Chino Valley Fire District, in partnership with the Chino Valley Fire Foundation made the holiday brighter for 100 Chino Valley Children by providing them with $150 to spend at Wal-Mart (3943 Grand Avenue, Chino) on December 13, 2023.

The students were pre-selected by Chino Valley Unified School District to participate in the program. They were escorted by Public Safety personnel to Wal-Mart, where they were paired with Chino Valley Fire District firefighters for their shopping experience. Children had the opportunity to buy
basic necessities and gifts for themselves, and/or family members. Sponsors, local dignitaries, WalMart associates, Chino Police Department, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department/Chino Hills Police Department, CAL-FIRE, CHP, California Department of Correction and Rehabilitation, and the 55+ Club were on hand to assist students while they shopped.

The Chino Valley Fire Foundation donates the funds used by the children as part of the Foundation’s Make a Child Smile Code 3 Delivery program. The Code 3 Delivery program is only one of five Make a Child Smile programs benefiting Chino Valley residents.
