WHY IS A NEW FIRE STATION BEING BUILT?

Chino Valley Fire identified a significant need to build a fire station in the Soquel Canyon area of Chino Hills through a Standards of Cover Assessment and Master Plan update conducted in 2018. The assessment found that a fire station strategically located in the urban-wildland interface will facilitate a quicker response and deployment of resources during wildland fires. The addition of a fourth fire station in Chino Hills will also improve response times and provide needed resources to draw from during emergency incidents throughout the Chino Valley.

WHERE WILL FIRE STATION 68 BE LOCATED?

Chino Valley Fire Station 68 will be located at the intersection of Soquel Canyon Parkway and Pipeline Avenue in the city of Chino Hills. The nearly four-acre property was transferred to Chino Valley Fire

through a transfer agreement with the city of Chino Hills. In exchange, Chino Valley Fire transferred to the city a .62-acre District-owned property on Eucalyptus Avenue that formally served as the District’s training facility.

WHAT WILL THE NEW FIRE STATION LOOK LIKE?

Chino Valley Fire is working closely with the architect team during the design phase to ensure the new fire station matches the aesthetics of the surrounding community. The fire station will be between 10,000-12,000 square feet with 10 dormitories and four-engine bays.

WHEN WILL CONSTRUCTION BEGIN?

Chino Valley Fire anticipates construction will begin in Winter 2023.

WHEN WILL CONSTRUCTION BE COMPLETED?

Chino Valley Fire anticipates construction will be completed in Winter 2024.
